A Lecture and Lunch with Emmanuel Hadjiandreou at Thyme At Southrop

On Thursday 1st November 2012, The Foodie Bugle and the Thyme team are organising a wonderful lecture, demonstration and lunch party to celebrate the work of award winning baker Emmanuel Hadjiandreou, author of “How To Make Bread”, published by Ryland Peters & Small and winner of The Guild of Food Writers Best First Book Award 2012.

Originally from South Africa, Emmanuel Hadjiandreou is a master baker who has worked for Gordon Ramsay, Flour Power City Bakery, Daylesford Organic and Judges Bakery in Hastings. He currently teaches at The School Of Artisan Food in Nottinghamshire. His sourdough bread, Stollen and other bread creations have won him several awards and he is widely recognised as an expert in the world of artisanal baking.

The day starts at 10am with teas and coffees and biscuits prepared by Thyme’s Chefs Marj and Daryll, served in the Tithe Barn. We will then move upstairs to the granary lecture room, so that Emmanuel can tell us all about the book as well as answering questions about his life, travel and work. Emmanuel will give a demonstration in the Thyme kitchen, showing how to make a simple loaf from his book. After a seasonal lunch, drawing inspiration from “How To Make Bread” and using ingredients from Thyme’s kitchen gardens, herb gardens and farm, we can all enjoy a guided walk around the Southrop Manor Estate with Head Gardener Joff Elphick.

If you would like to book a ticket for this event, priced at £45 per person, please book here.
