Exeter Festival of South West Food & Drink

The regional food festivals of Great Britain create the best opportunities for all foodies, food bloggers and writers to come together to support and promote Britain’s most talented artisanal food producers, purveyors and cooks, as well as being able to spend time enjoying the fruits of their labours.

This year, The Foodie Bugle is inviting bloggers and writers to meet up at the Exeter Festival of South West Food and Drink in the landscaped grounds of Exeter Castle, on the May Bank Holiday. The first day of the festival, Friday 29th April, coincides with the Royal Wedding, and a 25 square metre screen will be erected in the grounds to ensure no one misses a single nuptial detail. The main areas of foodie focus, aside the royal cake, will be the Festival Cookery Theatre, the Food is Fun Tepees and the Food Pavilions. This is a great opportunity to meet the South West’s most talented chefs, food producers, farmers, food experts and shopkeepers, as well as taking part in hands-on cookery workshops and cookery demonstrations. We will be able to buy local specialities, so be prepared for lots of gastronomic retail therapy.

From 6 p.m. onwards on the first two days of the event the festivities will carry on after dark, with live music, supper and real ale tastings.

We can all meet together at a pre-arranged time and venue on Friday 29th April, and discover as much as we possibly can about this very important regional food festival. By writing about it, celebrating it and promoting its range and excellence through blogs and online food magazines, we will be able to spread the word across the globe, widening the festival’s reach and helping support thousands of jobs in the South-West region’s food industry.

  • Festival Day Pass £7 per adult (Friday, Saturday or Sunday).  £1 per child under 16yrs and free for children under 5yrs
  • Festival Weekend Pass – entry for 3 days (including Festival After Dark) £15 per person (£3 for children under 16 and under 5yrs go free)
  • Festival After Dark Pass (Friday or Saturday from 6pm) £7 per person*

*The Northernhay Gardens area of the site is closed in the evening hence the Festival After Dark pass does not give access to this area.
