The Foodie Bugle is a food-drink-homewares shop with a tearoom at 2 Abbey Street, Abbey Green, near Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths. We stock a wide range of larder gift groceries, homewares, vintage kitchenalia and gardenalia.
In our tearoom area customers can try our food and drink before they buy – including Easy Jose coffees, loose leaf teas, cordials, wines, ales, cakes and biscuits. We also run workshops upstairs.
We are looking for a team oriented, experienced shop managerwho lives locally and is able to work from 9am till 5pm five days a week. You need to be available at weekends, half terms, holidays and Bank Holidays because these are the busiest times for us.
40 hours a week, including weekends
Managing customers, staff and training
Helping the team to open and close the shop
Managing deliveries, pricing, merchandising and displays
Selling and serving food, drinks and any homewares purchases
Helping to clean and organise the shop and tearoom to ensure high environmental standards are met
Making coffees and teas
Helping with workshops and events
Helping with the Independent Bath Market in Abbey Green, 8 Sundays a year
Managing cashing up and listing weekly staff payroll hours
Passion for homewares, artisan food, drink and craft
Previous experience in retail or a tearoom management is essential
Good work ethic, manners, motivation, attention to detail, maturity and positive attitude to business
A sense of responsibility
Ability to train and work in an organised team in a prepared environment
Cheery disposition and a sense of humour
You must be legally eligible to work in the United Kingdom
Local Bath residents preferred
