Food Photographer of the Year Award 2012

The Food Photographer of the Year Award 2012, sponsored by Pink Lady Apples, is a celebration of international food photography at its very finest.  The organisers hope to create a global platform to showcase the skill and talent of the many food photographers that are now actively working across all media, from magazines to newspapers, books, blogs, packaging and advertising.

The competition was launched in August 2011 and will culminate in April 2012, when winning food photographers across nine different categories, ranging from “Food in the Field” to “Food in Action”, “Food Portraiture”, “Food and its Place”, “Food in the Street”, “Food for Sale”, “An Apple a Day”, “Cream of the Crop” and a special category for photographers under 18 years of age, will be announced at a prestigious award ceremony at the Mall Galleries, near Trafalgar Square, London, SW1.

No less than 19 judges have been appointed, with expertise across the worlds of restaurants, publishing, food writing, professional photography, editing, cookbook retailing and food styling.

The overall winner of the competition will win a cheque for £5000. Some of the proceeds from the entry fees will be used to support two charities, Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and Action Against Hunger.

The nine different winning entrants and the runners up will have their work exhibited to the public at the Mall Galleries from 25th-28th April 2012.
