How to Source, Prepare, Eat and Enjoy A Mediterranean Diet and Lifestyle
For millennia the Mediterranean diet has centred round fresh fruit, vegetables, legumes, olive oil, bread, nuts, whole grains and fish. Traditionally low on meat and dairy consumption, studies have shown that following the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle can help reduce heart attacks and strokes by as much as 30%.
In this event, registered nutritionist Monika Jakiel-Rusin, Master in Dietetics, and Italian cook and grocery shop owner Silvana de Soissons will be showcasing how to source, prepare, cook, eat and enjoy the Mediterranean diet and lifestyle – focusing on all their attributes and benefits, helping you to enjoy a longer, healthier, happier life at a slower pace with a more positive attitude, right here in the Northern hemisphere.
We will be focusing not just on food groups, drinks, ingredients and cooking, but also on the buying of food, where and how to source the best ingredients, how to prepare the table, create family gatherings, slow down and incorporate the principles of Mediterranean life into your everyday activities.
You can enjoy a healthy supper from the region, with wine, while we talk and demonstrate.
Italian wines can purchased additionally on the night.
