A Lecture and Lunch with Sybil Kapoor at Thyme At Southrop Manor Estate

Come and meet Sybil Kapoor, chef, food writer, broadcaster and travel writer. The Thyme team and The Foodie Bugle are organising a wonderful lunch party in her honour, to celebrate the launch of her new book, “Simply Baking” the new National Trust bakery book published by Anova Books in September 2012.

The day starts at 10am on Wednesday, 26th September, with teas and coffees and sweet treats from her book prepared by Chefs Daryll Taylor and Marj Lang, served in the Tithe Barn. We will then move upstairs to the granary lecture room, so that Sybil can tell us all about the book as well as answering questions about her life, travel and work. After a seasonal lunch, again drawing inspiration from the book, and using ingredients from the kitchen gardens, herb gardens and farm, we can all enjoy a guided walk around the Southrop Manor Estate with Head Gardener Joff Elphick.

Sybil has won awards for her books, cookery writing, food journalism and broadcasting, including two prestigious Glenfiddich Awards, and two Michael Smith Awards from the Guild of Food Writers for work on British food.

She is the author of five cookery books, including “Simply British”, “Taste: A New Way to Cook” and “Citrus and Spice: A Year of Flavour”, explaining how flavour works in cooking.

If you would like to book a ticket for this event, priced at £45 per person, please book on the Thyme At Southrop website.
